RESEARCH DIRECTOR, NEUROSCIENCE

Position Summary

The Director of Research will be responsible for developing our research strategy. Reporting to and partnering with the Head of Research, this role will focus on developing a sound research strategy and execution plan based on reviewing the neuroscience, serotonin and psychedelic medicine literature, engaging with key opinion leaders in these fields, and collaborating with external academic and commercial partners to execute assays and models in a classical drug discovery screening cascade. The role will bring forward new and innovative molecules for preclinical safety assessment and clinical evaluation. As well as leading the research strategy, the successful candidate will have the opportunity to learn about the critical work that goes on beyond nomination of a ‘clinical candidate,’ from safety pharmacology and toxicology to clinical pharmacology, clinical study design, and late-stage preclinical development work (e.g., developmental and reproductive toxicology, drug abuse and liability assessment, etc.). This position requires high professionalism, organization, and the ability to be resourceful and think fast.
