ASSOCIATE MEDICAL DIRECTOR, CLINICAL DEVELOPMENT

Position Summary

This role will act as the Medical Monitor (MM) and will assume medical and safety oversight for our clinical trials. They will work collaboratively with the study team, program team and contract research organization (CRO) partners to provide medical governance oversight for the assigned studies.  This position requires high professionalism, organization, and the ability to be resourceful and think fast.

Objectives
  • Provide medical oversight for our clinical studies to ensure safety of clinical trial participants
  • Responsible for protocol questions, eligibility questions, adverse event evaluation and medical review of study data
  • Provide safety assessments for Serious Adverse Event reports and develop Safety Reports as needed in coordination with the study team
  • Contribute to the development and authoring of key internal and external documents related to clinical trial conduct, including clinical trial protocols, investigators’ brochures, informed consents, case report forms, project plans, medical monitoring plans, safety management plans, clinical study reports and meeting abstracts or publications and other documents as necessary
  • Handle special projects and initiatives as needed
Competencies
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite

  • Ability to work independently with international teams operating across multiple time zones
Education And Experience
  • A medical degree with a current registration/ license
  • Specialty training and certification as psychiatrist/neurologist preferred
  • Prior experience in medical monitoring and drug development (3-5 years minimum)
  • Knowledge and understanding of clinical research, International Council for Harmonization (ICH)- Good Clinical Practices (GCP) and regulatory requirements
Physical Requirements
  • Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer
  • Travel 1-2x per year (international/local)
