ASSOCIATE DIRECTOR, CLINICAL DEVELOPMENT

Position Summary

The Associate Director, Clinical Development, will be responsible for managing all EMBARK psychological support (https://cybin.com/embark/) training and oversight of operational aspects of our Phase I-IV clinical trials and investigator-initiated trials (IIT). This role will offer supervision and oversight of all internal processes and third-party vendors aligned with the psychological support training and oversight component of trials.  They will work with key internal and external stakeholders and multidisciplinary teams to advance our EMBARK clinical training and oversight program and ensure alignment with other functional areas.  This position requires a high degree of professionalism, organization, and the ability to be resourceful and think fast.

Objectives
  • The primary objective of this role will be to provide oversight and ongoing operational support for the EMBARK program. This includes, but is not limited to:
  • Assists in the creation and management of plans and protocols for the EMBARK clinical training and oversight program
  • Ability to manage multiple studies simultaneously with an exceptional attention to detail and strong multidisciplinary communication skills
  • Capacity to establish close partnering relationships with functional leaders to ensure strategic and operational alignment with all other aspects of the development process
  • Ability to create, seek governance approval, and execute processes and plans relevant to the EMBARK clinical training and oversight program
  • Provides financial oversight and works in close collaboration with accounting and finance teams to review, track and project financial activities related to study vendors
  • Demonstrates the overall leadership, engagement, communication, planning, and execution necessary to drive the EMBARK clinical training and oversight program forward
  • Any additional duties which may be assigned from time to time
  • Handle special projects and initiatives as needed

Education And Experience
  • Bachelor’s Degree required
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in biotechnology/pharmaceutical industry in clinical operations
  • Mental health and/or clinical training experience preferred
  • Comprehensive understanding of clinical trial management
  • Knowledge of global regulatory and compliance requirements for clinical research, including but not limited to Code of Federal Regulations (CFR), International Council for Harmonization (ICH), Good Clinical Practices (GCP)
  • Experience in developing study budgets, forecasting, and managing financial oversight
  • Experience managing phase 3 global clinical trials, including selecting and managing study vendors and consultants
  • Proficient in creation, review, and approval of clinical training and oversight study documents, including but not limited to study manuals, plans, forms, and templates
  • Strong initiative, attention to detail, effectiveness in a fast-paced work environment, and proactive prioritization
  • Desire and ability to work within an agile and cohesive team-based structure
  • Demonstrated excellent communication (oral and written), teamwork, organizational, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills
Physical Requirements
  • Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer
  • Travel 1-2x per year
